R&B Star Maor Mo Is Ready to Spread Good Vibes to the World

Maor Mo Avigdor was born to sing. His parents were musicians and they had a band long before he was born. In fact, they spent the duration of his mom’s pregnancy touring Israel. On the day Maor was due, she was taken from the stage directly to the hospital.

Being surround by music from such an early age, it was no wonder that Maor fell in love with music. When he immigrated to the US with his family at the age of 8, music was what he depended on when cultural and language barriers made life hard for him.

After years of writing and recording songs on his computer, Maor knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. When he turned 18, he packed up and moved to Miami to pursue his dreams. He had no money or connections but his dream was too big. He had faith and persevered and started building his career from the ground up.

That early period in his career taught him one of his biggest lessons. He says, “Whatever you want to do, draw up a plan and go get it. Overthinking will block many blessings.” That is the advice he  onto until he broke through into the music industry.

Today Maor is a popular artist in the R&B scene in Miami and other parts of the world. He distinguishes himself by incorporating other elements into the R&B genre without diluting its traditional sound. And He borrows from his foreign background and other international sounds and artfully blends them with soul. He also integrates his passion for fashion with his music. The result is what he refers to as “reality-based R&B”.

Years after struggling as an artist in Miami, Maor found himself working alongside people he had admired while he was growing up. “I just want to make great records with musical integrity. I reach out to artists that I grew up listening to for collaborations and most of them are down to work.” He has also established lasting relationships with notable artists.

Artist Pleasure P is his friend and one of his mentors. Maor was feature on Pleasure P’s EP Pleasure P Presents with his single “Usher Told You”.  He was once again featured in Pleasure P’s single “Insecure”. Rico Love is another of his mentors to whom he credits his songwriting prowess. He has also done collaborations with artists Talib Kweli and The Game in the past.

Maor is collaborating with these big name once again in his new album Same God which is set to premiere in October. The ten-track album features artists Rico Love, Christon Gray, Pleasure P, The Game, Talib Kweli, and Murs. Each of the artists brings their unique sound and style which Maor’s artfully complements. The album addresses a range of social issues like love, religion, and politics.

Maor is far from finished yet. He still has dreams of creating and reaching as many people as possible with his music. His goal is to make great records with musical integrity with nothing but pure vibes.
