Mario Fernandez, also known as “Wizzo,” is a Mexican-American DJ, producer, and entrepreneur. He started his recording career over a decade ago in 2009. The soon-to-be musical genius began as an intern for Actual Eyes Media, a post-production studio located in California. Through this early experience in the field, he gained the necessary background to become a professional audio recorder.
His internship taught him the necessary skills he needed, and he soon started working with Nipsey Hussle, an American rapper. For their first collaboration, they came up with The Marathon, with “U don’t Got A Clue” as a part of the mixtape. This started his career and later led to more work for him in the future.
In 2011, Wizzo once again collaborated with Nipsey Hussle. This time, they produced The Marathon Continues, which features tracks he pieced together. Through this experience, he was able to gain a substantial amount of insight into the music industry, and he would later find these skills helpful in the world of entrepreneurship.
After successfully helping Nipsey produce some more great mixtapes, he later went on to work for other musicians such as Skeme, Audio Push, and Dubb. This venture led him to make several songs and projects for the developing hip-hop music culture of Los Angeles.
Two years later, he would work again for the American rapper to produce Crenshaw, which he was credited as the recording engineer and executive music producer. He was also responsible for creating the track “Crenshaw and Slauson, True Story,” the first visual of the project.
In December of 2014, Wizzo produced “Killa” for Nipsey, the first song of the album Nipsey released in that year. Four years later, they would collaborate once more to release Nipsey’s debut album with the title “Victory Lap.” Wizzo was the recording engineer and mixer for the album.
Nipsey is thankful for Wizzo’s help with his music. Wizzo was an important ingredient for Nipsey’s successful projects, which would soon lead to another that proved an even bigger success than the last. Both credit each other for the success they’ve had so far.
The entrepreneurial skills, knowledge, and experience Wizzo currently enjoys he mostly learned when working with Nipsey. Not only did they become good friends along with multiple collaborations and projects, but they also shared ideas that would later become the turning point of his career. The marketing, ownership, branding, and building of disruptive technology came from his shared experience with Nipsey.
Wizzo has had multiple gigs before. However, his big break came when he began working for Nipsey, and things really took off from there. He currently has a significant Instagram following, and recently. He announced that he is working on an audio interface brand of his own named Bitstream Audio. Wizzo is excited to see what’s next in his career and take the music industry to the next level as he applies everything he’s learned over the years to be successful.
