Dr. Parcells is a clinical instructor, surgeon, Author, and volunteer who actively participates in many breast cancer organizations. This includes Minette’s Angels and the Breasties. Throughout her career, Dr. Parcells has written countless journals and textbooks and even presented them at national and international meetings.

Since her childhood, Alexis has wished to pursue a career in medicine. Moreover, her father was a physician, and thus, it was the primary source of motivation for her. She recounts the days when her father offered numerous services to the local community who loved him, and he too loved caring and helping others. This trait passed onto his daughter as well.

She had her first serious medical mission trip to Morocco at sixteen with Operation Smile. This motivated her further, and she took her desire to become a plastic surgeon even more seriously. During this mission, she got to see for herself the pleasure and comfort of the children and their families because of a one-hour operation. It made her heart warm with joy.

She put in a lot of effort to achieve her goal. However, like every other person, Dr. Parcells, too, had her fair share of obstacles throughout her life. However, she faced and overcame all of the challenges with the help of her strong will, passion, determination, and hard work. On being asked about the biggest challenge faced in life, Dr. Alexis declared that it was the countless rejections she faced during admissions by medical institutions. This did not drive her away from chasing her dreams. She fought vigorously and made her way through to medical school. Thus, she gained victory over the challenges which barricaded her way towards her dreams.

Life has drastically changed for her post becoming a surgeon. She learned new lessons along the way, which shaped her as a person. ” In surgery, It is important to know when to run and when to walk,” said Dr. Parcells. The profession has made her more patient, calm, and adaptable, which is a necessary trait to treat patients.
