David Rothman Switched Gears in the Music Industry to Release His Own Tracks

Over 15 years ago, a young David Rothman started attending music shows in New York City. David, who swears there is nothing quite like watching live performances by great musicians, got the opportunity to interact with many of them. Years later, when he finished working on his MBA, he was employed as the manager of artist relations for a Fortune 100 company. This opportunity allowed him to work with some of the biggest names known in the music industry today.

After a while, he became a member of the Recording Academy, the organization that reviews the music industry and is in charge of the Grammys. Every year, Rothman gets the incredible opportunity to walk among musical giants during the awards ceremony. As a member of the Recording Academy, he has an even better chance of networking with various players within the industry throughout the year and experiencing their magic up close. The magic must have rubbed off on him because now, he is replicating it with his own songs.

In the middle of the raging Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, David released the track “The Rap Knight.” Released through his record label, Greeny Records, the music is available on all music streaming services. In the thoughtful and uplifting track, he reflects on relationships between family and friends and the joy in his life during his early thirties. He also outlines his dreams for life post-pandemic.

While it might seem ironic for Rothman to reflect on such issues when people are struggling all over the world, the single does take one’s mind off the immediate problems. The pleasure and joy he conveys in the three-minute track are contagious. One simply can’t resist joining in when he celebrates finally getting a girl he wants to marry and being thankful that his family and friends are safe.

Besides having heart-warming lyrics, the song also has a superb soundscape that makes it a joy to listen to. Its rich and catchy beats beautifully match the uplifting feel the lyrics give. Rothman’s production of the soundscape is also irrefutable proof that he is a multitalented composer and musician.

In addition to reflecting on his life and being thankful for all he has. Rothman also pays homage to New York City. From his track titled “New York,” Rothman croons, “Beyond these walls. There’s life to find; I think of hope, in a New York state of mind.” Here he acknowledges that for him and others before him, NYC is the epicenter of musical geniuses. Without his experiences when attending those music shows many years ago, perhaps he would have never ventured into music.

About the future, he says, “As a member of the Recording Academy. It’s been a dream to get a chance to produce and release music. I’m looking forward to releasing more music shortly. Music has always been a big part of my life… I first got into the industry by attending a lot of shows. And socializing with all people in the music industry.”

Unlike days past when he attended major events and stayed behind the scenes. He is now stepping into the spotlight as an accomplished artist in his own right.
