Sobia A. Shaikh- Living Her Life in Her Own Way

Sobia A Shaikh is a social media influencer and fashion entrepreneur. Earlier, Sobia A. Shaikh worked in advertising at Young & Rubicam for 6 years until she moved to San Francisco in 1997. Soon after moving to San Francisco, Sobia began her career as a fashion entrepreneur, launching a custom clothing line called “Rhung,” drawing upon her Pakistani heritage. She now runs her own social media marketing business and authors the popular shaikhenandstirred.com blog.

Throughout her life, she has seen failures as well as success; from there, 12 things that she learned and wanted to share through her blog are:

  1. Life is way too short for a person to handle toxic people. Surrounding yourself with people you love and the people who love you will make your life much happier.
  2. “Live in the moment” is easier said than done. But living in the past and thinking about how situations or things could have been handled differently makes a person feel low and somewhat depressed. Worrying about the future, which we all fall prey to, causes anxiety. So, moving forward, one should emphasize focusing on the present.
  3. Being kind to one own self. Even though it is so easy to say and hard to execute, but one should try hard to love their own version of selves, here she adds, “Nope, I’m fabulous, and I do make errors in judgment, but I LOVE MYSELF.”
  4. Be kind to others – Everyone is going through some things of their own. She also advises bearing with them before jumping to conclusions. In fact, she tells you to reach out to a friend from whom you haven’t heard from in a while.
  5. She advises not to take things personally.

6.One should do more of what they love, which will prove to be satisfying.

  1. Stop complaining. Start appreciating the smallest things around you and, of course, the major ones too.
  2. Complimenting people, especially strangers, might just bring happiness and also plays a little role in making their day more beautiful.
  3. Telling people you love that you love them will satisfy you.
  4. Letting go of grudges is a great form to release negativity. Here the bonus is that you get more time to focus on yourself, so it’s a win-win situation.
  5. Putting on loud music and dancing in the kitchen will surely feel liberating.
  6. Cherish & nourishing friendships – watering them as you would plant and see them grow. One should never roll their eyes on their friends.
