New Basketball Star Ja’Monti Wright Gives Back To His Community

Kentucky-based basketball star Ja’Monti Wright has been playing the sport ever since he was old enough to hold a ball and dribble. Basketball is his life, and it’s what brought him to fame in his hometown in Louisville, Kentucky. Ja’Monti is still young, but he already realizes that he can use the sport he loves to give back to his community.

Recently, he and his family led a charity drive in their locale.

Aside from playing hoops, Ja’Monti had always been passionate about helping others, especially the poor and needy children. He wants to make a social impact by helping feed the homeless and give decent clothes to kids whose parents cannot afford them. This became the focus of his charity drive at which he also shared some of his basketball skills and gave away some basketball apparel.

Ja’Monti believes that through years of playing basketball in Kentucky, he can influence others to use their talent to make a difference. He’s being looked up to by countless children, so it’s important for him to set a good example. Ja’Monti encourages his fellow players to do the same and be open to giving back to the community that cheers for them to win.

Just like most kids in the U.S., basketball became the first sport Ja’Monti was introduced to. He looked up to his uncle Kyle Hampton Jr., cousin Tyler Ulis, and cousin Jomari Bradshaw. Who showed great attitude and character even after they became stars.

Ja’Monti wants to serve as an inspiration to the youth of his community and beyond. For this reason, he makes sure he keeps himself grounded as he tries to reach his dreams.

Ja’Monti was always involved in fights as a kid at school, especially against bullies. But he was fearless and always defended his friends. This attitude turned out to be of great value. When Ja’Monti started playing basketball seriously when he was in sixth grade. He showed constant aggressiveness and fierceness when he played, earning him the nickname “The Dog.”

Ja’Monti wasn’t able to try out for his 6th-grade middle school basketball team because he had submitted some paperwork late. He was also overweight during that time, so he made the decision to shed some pounds and train daily. By seventh grade, he was a starter for the team and even made the game-winning shot on one occasion against his rival school.

At 6’2” and with a very athletic build, Ja’Monti is a beast on the court. Making those dunks look extremely easy. He patterns his style of play to that of LeBron James, his most favorite player in the NBA.
